Minutes of Monthly Board Meeting
Tuesday, January 9, 2024
Please Note: These Town Board meeting minutes are posted as draft-only to inform town residents of the topics addressed at the board meeting. These minutes are subject to review and possible revision at next month’s Town Board meeting and should not be considered official until they receive final board approval at that time.
The meeting was called to order by Dan Truttmann at 7:01 pm. The meeting was held via video conference on Zoom only due to inclement weather. Chairman Dan Truttmann, 1st Supervisor Travis Leonard, 2nd Supervisor Aaron Gifford, and Clerk-Treasurer Marilyn Zipsie were present. Verification of proper notice was given.
Public Comment – There were no public comments.
Minutes of 12/12/2023 Town Board – Minutes for the Tuesday, 12/12/2023 Town Board Meeting were reviewed. An edit was needed and approval was tabled until February meeting.
Treasurer’s Report & Bills to be Paid- The Treasurer’s Report and bills to be paid were presented. Dan Truttmann moved to approve the bills to be paid and Treasurer’s Report as presented; second by Travis Leonard. Motion carried.
Patrolman’s Report- Lance Moen reported a long day of plowing January 9, with the first big snowfall of the year Other than that, it has been a fairly uneventful month with usual brush cutting and restocking supplies for the winter season.
Plan Commission Report- Dan Truttmann reported that the Plan Commission approved the Ruegesegger easement and CSM and has passed it to the Board for approval (on the agenda for this meeting). The Plan Commission will be looking into “dark sky” ordinances. There is a pending meeting with the town attorney to discuss first steps in the creation of the new Land Division Ordinance.
Business Items-
- Ruegsegger Easement and CSM Approval: Bob Talarczyk was present to explain and discuss the easement and CSM. Dan Truttmann made the motion to approve the easement and CSM Lot 1 of CSM 4036, Vol. 16, Pg 19; second by Aaron Gifford. Motion carried.
- Chuck Chandler Driveway: Discussion was held about requirement for a driveway permit for a garage/hunting cabin. A permit may be required and the Board awaits the zoning paperwork for further discussion.
- ATV/UTV Ordinance Review: Travis reports no significant change to what was happening before the ordinance, other than 3 or 4 groups going through. There has been nothing out of the ordinary, no accidents or sheriff department calls that he is aware of. There needs to be a sign at the end of Yankee Hollow indicating the end of the trail. The county has mentioned having a common ordinance.
Adjournment- Travis Leonard moved to adjourn; second by Aaron Gifford. Motion carried. The meeting adjourned at 7:37 pm.
