Annual Town Meeting
Tuesday, April 18, 2023
Please Note: These Annual Town Meeting minutes are posted as draft-only to inform town residents of the topics addressed at the Annual Meeting. These minutes are subject to review and possible revision at next year’s Annual Town Meeting and should not be considered official until they receive final board approval at that time.
The meeting was called to order at 7:00 pm by 1st Supervisor Travis Leonard, in the physical absence of Chair Dan Truttmann. The meeting was held in person and as a video conference on Zoom. Chairman Dan Truttmann (via Zoom), 1st Supervisor Travis Leonard, 2nd Supervisor Aaron Gifford, and Clerk-Treasurer Marilyn Zipsie were present, as well as several town residents. Verification of proper notice was given.
Agenda presentation- The agenda was presented. Minutes for the Tuesday, April 19, 2022, Annual Town Meeting were presented by Marilyn Zipsie. Dan Truttmann moved to approve the minutes as presented; second by Aaron Gifford. Motion carried.
Swearing in of Board Members: Previously completed with signed oaths on file.
Set date for 2024 Annual Town Meeting- The 2024 Annual Town Meeting date was discussed. Curt Moen moved to set the date for the 2024 Annual Town Meeting to Tuesday, April 16, 2024, at 7:00 pm; second by Pete Leonard. Motion carried.
2022 Annual Report- Marilyn Zipsie presented the 2022 Profit & Loss Budget vs. Actual Report for approval. The 2023 Profit & Loss Budget vs. Actual Report YTD was on presented. Curt Moen moved to approve the 2022 Annual Report; second by Heidi Hankley. Motion carried.
Approve highway expenditures for 2023- 2023 budget amounts for highway expenditures were discussed. Robert Bergman moved to approve $171,000 for 2023 highway expenditures; second by Nana Schowalter. Motion carried.
Town Hall renovations- The Board discussed renovations had been completed as proposed in 2022 with electrical outlets, better light fixtures, light switches near new door, new windows/inserts with screens, area rugs. Upgraded tech for the Town Hall including video monitor, camera, etc. will be installed early summer 2023; this equipment has been anonymously donated by a generous resident of the Town of York.
Other Business- Discussion regarding possibly changing night of monthly meetings due to a conflict with the Green County Board Meetings. Further consideration will be needed on this topic.
Announcements- Robert Bergman complimented the Board, past and present, on how well-run the Town of York is.
Adjournment- Curt Moen moved to adjourn; second by Lance Moen. Motion carried. The meeting adjourned at 7:32 pm.
