Please Note: These Town Board public hearing minutes are posted as draft-only to inform town residents of the topics addressed at the public hearing. The public was called to order at 6:44 pm. The meeting was held in person and as a video conference on Zoom. Chairman Dan Truttmann, 1st Supervisor April Prusia, 2nd Supervisor Travis Leonard, and Clerk-Treasurer Jessie Schlumpf were present.
Verification of proper notice- The Public Hearing notice and the agenda were posted on the website and at the Town Hall on August 19, 2022 and re-posted on the website on September 6, 2022.
Public Comments on the Discontinuances-
Comments by Bill Rindy (via Zoom):
Mr. Rindy had questions about the benefit to the town, graveling/fixing potholes and 2 culverts on Jeglum Ln. (need to inspect culverts). He also expressed concern on the late date for contracting for snow removal, cost of upkeep, etc.
Comments by Larry Klosterman:
Mr. Klosterman (Larry’s Ln.) asked questions regarding the process and how decision was made on which lanes to discontinue. He raised questions of fairness, why not discontinue all, etc. He also asked questions regarding his brother Wayne’s property (Klosterman Ln.).
Response by Board:
Dan Truttmann said there are 21 paved roads and 33 town lanes; and for staff, especially with snow events, it can be more than our capacity. We started with town lanes of ~1/10 of a mile or less, little revenue (General Transportation Aids) for the upkeep, no dwelling on the lane, difficulty for snowplowing safety, cost of necessary surveying, etc.
Adjournment- Jessie Schlumpf moved to adjourn the public hearing; second by Dan Truttmann. Motion carried and the public hearing adjourned at 7:06 p.m.
Respectfully submitted, Jessica L. Schlumpf, Clerk-Treasurer
