Plan Commission Monthly Board Meeting
Tuesday, February 7, 2017
8:00PM

The February meeting of the York Township Plan Commission, held in the York Town Hall, was called to order by Chairman Curt Moen at 8:05 P.M. Verification of legal posting was given. Plan Commission members in attendance were Moen, Marselino Miranda, Linda Yates and Terri Nipple. Others in attendance were Dan Reeson, Travis Leonard, Kristin Leonard, Robert J. Marks, and Mike and Sheilagh Lien.

Minutes of the January 3, 2017 meeting were read by Secretary, Terri Nipple. Marselino Miranda motioned for approval of the minutes, seconded by Yates. The minutes were approved as read.

Old Business:

  • Dan Reeson, Town Board Chairman shared that the 6 month moratorium requested by the RLCC at the January Plan Commission meeting is expected to be granted.

New Business:

  • Documents and correspondence from Delores Winden and family were reviewed. The Plan Commission was very pleased to receive a well organized and thoroughly prepared request. The Winden’s informed the Plan Commission that more information would be available at next month’s meeting. The Plan Commission does not see any complications with the proposal and will vote on the proposal in March when the rest of the survey documents (including a registered CSM) are submitted.
  • Travis Leonard, an interested party in the Winden transaction, asked Moen some questions. Moen advised Leonard to read and follow the ordinance regarding Dwelling Unit Allotments to prevent future problems. He told him to be detailed on the deed regarding Dwelling Unit Allotments.
  • Mike/Sheiliagh Lien wanted an opinion on whether they have a buildable lot on their second lot. If so, they would like to move the Dwelling Unit Allotment they have remaining on Lot 1 to Lot 2. At that point, Lot 1, which already has a dwelling on it, would no longer have any Dwelling Unit Allotments left. The Plan Commission has no problem with their plan as long as there is safe access to the lot and the county approves a driveway.
  • Robert Marks approached the Plan Commission with a plan to take 10 acres off of Tax Parcel 139 (off of Sunnyside Road). He needs to bring CSM’s to the Plan Commission for final approval before the plan is advanced to the Town Board. The website also needs to be updated regarding the number of Dwelling Unit Allotments that Marks would still have.

The next meeting of the York Township Plan Commission will be March 7, 2017.

Yates motioned for adjournment, seconded by Miranda. The meeting adjourned at 9:22 P.M.

(Respectfully submitted by Terri Nipple, Plan Commission Secretary).
