August 11, 2020 Election Update

The Partisan Primary Election will be held on Tuesday, August 11, 2020. The Town of York will be following recommendations by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and Wisconsin Department of Health Services to manage exposure to the COVID-19 virus at the town hall on election day. Please visit their websites for the current information on what those guidelines will entail:

Please consider voting by absentee ballot

To request an absentee ballot by mail, you must be registered to vote. If you are not registered to vote- please note that the deadline to register online or by mail is July 22, 2020. After that date, registration can only take place in-person with me or at the poll on Election Day. Register to vote here: https://myvote.wi.gov/en-us/

Please request your absentee ballot by going to the Wisconsin MyVote website here: https://myvote.wi.gov/en-us/ There is a round “Vote Absentee” button on the front page that will get you started. Requesting your ballot this way will help election administrators manage the unusually high absentee request load. If you are having problems using MyVote, please call me at 523-4095 and I will help you work out a solution.

In-person early voting is also an option by appointment from July 28 – August 7, 2020. Please call to set up an appointment at 523-4095 and I will arrange a time to meet you at the town hall.

Please feel free to visit the Wisconsin Elections Commission webpage for the most current information regarding the election: https://elections.wi.gov/ My goal is to ensure that everyone who wants to cast a ballot in the Town of York can do so safely.

Thank you,
Heidi Hankley
Town of York Clerk
