Regular Monthly Board Meeting
Tuesday, October 9, 2018

The meeting was called to order at 8:00 P.M. Present were Chairman Dan Reeson, 1st Supervisor Tim Czerwonka, 2nd Supervisor Steve Hermanson, Treasurer Ann Carlson, along with citizens Ron Erickson, Cain Mueller, and Debra Fairbanks. Heidi Hankley was filling in for Clerk Nancy Anderson who was absent. Verification of Proper Notice- The agenda was posted to the Town Hall Building on Monday, October 8th at 11:00 A.M., and Tim Czerwonka posted to the Town website. Steve Hermanson move to approve the September minutes, Tim Czerwonka 2nd the motion. Motion carried.

Treasurer’s Report-The current driveway refunds have been paid out, as well as more contracted road repairs. Some delinquent personal property taxes have been collected, but there are still some outstanding delinquencies.

Bills-Bills were presented as prepared by Nancy. Wayne Bue also submitted a bill for truck repair and maintenance. Dan Reeson move to approve the bills, Steve Hermanson 2nd the motion. Motion carried.

Patrolman’s Report– Wayne has been cleaning ditches, and grading Town driveways. He has yet to mow roadways if weather permits. Connie Fox needs some trees removed because they are blocking a clear view of the highway. Wayne will contact Green County about removing the trees.

Driveway Permits-None.

Driveway Refunds

  • Bruce Sinkula– Bruce Sinkula’s building project has been delayed for the time being. He would like a full refund, and will re-apply when he is ready to build. Steve Hermanson move to approve a full driveway refund of $1800.00 to Bruce Sinkula, Tim Czerwonka 2nd the motion. Motion carried.

Plan Commission

  • Cain Mueller-Parcel Transfer-Dan Reeson move to approve a parcel transfer for Cain Mueller, Tim Czerwonka 2nd the motion. Motion carried.

Public Comments-Another family is unable to visit the recycling facility on Saturday mornings. Whether or not evening hours are practical, since there’s no lighting in the area, is a concern. Discussion will continue on this matter.

Old Business

  • New Truck Bids and Estimates– Board officials believe they can sell the old International truck for $5000 – $7000. Bids from Peterbuilt and International were discussed and compared. After reviewing a number of bids and estimates for trucks, Steve Hermanson move to approve the purchase of a 2019 F550 Ford Chassis from Tim Askey at Kayser Ford for $48,800.00, and a 10’ Power V Plow with an 8’ wing from Monroe Truck Equipment for $35,557.00, Tim Czerwonka 2nd the motion. Motion carried. Dan will contact the bank loan officer for financing.

New Business

  • Ron Erickson-New Glarus Fire District-The committee for purchasing a new fire truck will have a cost estimate for us in 5-6 months. The new fire building construction continues with some items coming in under budget. Steve Hermanson move to approve the Town of York’s portion of the New Glarus Fire District budget in the amount of $13,978.27, Tim Czerwonka 2nd the motion. Motion carried.
  • Budget Work for 2019-We will have a new truck payment to consider when preparing the budget. Ann will bring proposed figures to the November meeting.

Adjournment– Steve Hermanson move to adjourn the meeting, Tim Czerwonka 2nd the motion. Motion carried. The meeting adjourned at 9:15 P.M.
