Regular Monthly Board Meeting
Tuesday, September 11, 2018

The meeting was called to order at 8:00 P.M. Chairman Dan Reeson, 1st Supervisor Tim Czerwonka, 2nd Supervisor Steve Hermanson, Treasurer Ann Carlson, and Clerk Nancy Anderson were all present, along with citizens Scott and Gail Phillips, Connie Fox, Dave Green, and Larry Klosterman. Verification of proper notice was given. Steve Hermanson move to approve the August meeting minutes, Tim Czerwonka 2nd the motion. Motion carried.

Treasurer’s Report– Ann stated that we received our annual August real estate tax settlement in the amount of $57,957.75. The annual lease on our voting machine was paid along with the State 2% fire insurance tax.

Bills– Nancy presented bills for this month. Dan Reeson move to approve the bills, Tim Czerwonka 2nd the motion. Motion carried.

Patrolman’s Report– Wayne is busy grading washed out roads and removing downed trees and brush.

Driveway Permit

  • Larry Klosterman (Badger Rd.) -Larry will be improving the existing field road for now and will install a culvert. No permit is needed at this time.

Driveway Refunds

  • Revisit driveway refund for: Scott and Gail Phillips– Dan will have to speak with the contractor once more before a check can be issued. We will revisit the matter again in October.
  • Kyle Ruden’s driveway refund may proceed because it does not involve a contractor.
  • Brian and Robin Baker-Again, Dan will speak with the contractor once more before issuing a refund check. We will revisit this matter again at the October meeting.

Plan Commission-Edward and Connie Fox-Density Unit-The Fox’s had attended and received approval for a Density Unit from the Plan Commission, which has always been there but does not appear on the Land Units listing. Steve Hermanson move to approve the density unit, Tim Czerwonka 2nd the motion. Motion carried.

Public Comments– Articles for the annual newsletter are due by October 9th.

Old Business

  • Roy Rueggsegger-Toppled Grave Stone at York Cemetery-Roy would not accept the check issued for damage to the stone by the snowplow last winter. He felt that the Town should pay the full amount of the estimate. The Board does not agree. Dan will contact Roy once again to try to come to an agreement.

New Business

  • Dave Green-Annual Green’s Prairie Cemetery Report– Dave Green, the President of the Green’s Prairie Cemetery Association presented his annual report to the Board. The report can be found elsewhere on our website.
  • Citizens removing/cleaning up downed trees on roadways– The Board feels that this is not a good practice as liability may be a concern. A Board member should be contacted concerning felled trees.
  • Bids on New Truck– Steve came prepared with a number of bids from various implement dealers. Discussion will take place, but no decision would be made tonight.

Adjournment– Steve Hermanson move to adjourn the meeting, Tim Czerwonka 2nd the motion. Motion carried. The meeting adjourned at 9:30 P.M.
