Town of York
Regular Monthly Board Meeting
February 11, 2014
8:00 P.M.

The meeting was called to order at 8:00 P.M. Present were Chairman Dan Reeson, 1st Supervisor Dan Truttmann, 2nd Supervisor Steve Hermanson, Treasurer Ann Carlson, and Clerk Nancy Anderson along with several citizens and interested parties. Verification of proper notice was also given. Dan Truttmann move to approve the January, 2014 minutes, Steve Hermanson second. Motion carried.

Treasurer’s Report– Ann Carlson reviewed the finalized 2013 budget figures and also the January, 2014 income and expenses. There were several transactions for 2013 that had not cleared the bank. Those will be reconciled before our March meeting.

Bills– Wayne presented a few bills from NAPA Auto Parts and a bill for $189.00 for a new cell phone. Nancy also presented a full list of bills to be paid. Dan Truttmann move to approve the bills, Steve Hermanson 2nd. Motion carried.

Patrolman’s Report– Green County will be hired to do some tree trimming in the near future. We are running short of salt and chips and are looking for sources that have extra to sell. The Freightliner truck is not working and is in the shop for repairs.

Plan Commission– Heidi Hankley appeared with an update on the parcel database tracking reports and also gave the Board a glimpse of the tracking information as it will appear on the Town website. It will be informational only but a nice guide and resource for our citizens. Heidi is looking for a replacement for Todd Larson on the Plan Commission. Dan Reeson will call Marselino Miranda.

Old Business

  • Schultheiss/Jahnke-Sauer Driveway– After contacting York’s attorney, Dan Reeson told the interested parties that the driveway must be brought up to code. If they choose not to do so, the Town Board will contract to have the work done and then add the amount to the parties’ tax bills along with a penalty. After some discussion, the concerned parties agreed to attend to the matter by June or July of 2014.

New Business

  • The Board received an annual notice from Green County concerning noxious weeds. It is the Town’s responsibility to inform the County of any violations. A weed notice will be published in mid April of this year.
  • Building Code Ordinance Rate Schedule– The Original Building Code Ordinance includes a “rate schedule” which needs to be updated from time to time. The Board will amend the Ordinance in March to remove the “rate schedule” from the actual ordinance and post it separately on the website for reference.
  • Database Backup– Dan Truttmann feels that the Board needs to decide what information to back up before pricing different options. The Board will bring their ideas next month.
  • Website Maintenance– The task of maintaining the website is of concern. Ann is hoping to learn how to do updates from Todd and then teach others.

Adjournment– Steve Hermanson move to adjourn the meeting, Dan Truttmann 2nd. Motion carried. The meeting adjourned at 9:45 P.M.

Respectfully submitted,
Nancy Anderson, Clerk
