“Shall the person holding the office of town clerk, town treasurer, or the combined office of town clerk-treasurer in the Town of York be appointed by the town board?”

Explanation of a yes/no vote:

Voting “yes” means that the person holding the office of town clerk, town treasurer, or the combined position of town clerk-treasurer will be appointed by a majority of the members-elect of the town board. The candidates for appointed town clerk, town treasurer, or combined town clerk-treasurer are not required to reside in the Town of York.

Voting “no” means that the person holding the office of town clerk, town treasurer, or the combined position of town clerk-treasurer will be elected by the town electors. The candidates for elected town clerk, town treasurer, or combined town clerk-treasurer must reside in the Town of York.
