Town of York
Regular Monthly Board Meeting
Tuesday, June 12th, 2012
8:00 P.M.

The meeting was called to order at 8:00 P.M. Present were Chairman Dan Reeson, 1st Supervisor Dan Truttmann, 2nd Supervisor Steve Hermanson, Treasurer Ann Carlson, and Clerk Nancy Anderson. Verification of proper notice was given. After two minor changes in the May minutes, Dan Truttmann move to approve the May minutes as amended, Steve Hermanson 2nd. Motion carried.

Treasurer Report– Ann Carlson presented the May treasurer’s report. The Town received our annual Recycling Grant in the amount of $884.85.

Bills– Wayne had a few small bills for maintenance repair, plus repair of the mower wheel & rim. Dan Reeson move to approve bills, Steve Hermanson 2nd. Motion carried.

Patrolman’s Report– Wayne has completed mowing and hauling gravel to Town lanes. As part of our landscaping plan, Wayne will remove several bushes on the Town property.

Plan Commission– Dan Truttmann attended the PC meeting and learned about the progress being made in regard to parcel tracking. Chip and Heidi Hankley began a trial run at developing a database to track dwelling units by entering data for one section of the Town, which took approximately two hours. They estimate input time for the entire Town to be about 80 hours. This approach, however, would only give a starting point from the present moving forward. This database does not reconstruct what has happened since the 20 acre parcel was passed and the database will need ongoing maintenance.

Public Comments– Nancy told the Board that twenty-nine households participated in the Town of New Glarus/Town of York water testing program that was offered through the Green County UW Extension. Results will be reviewed at a meeting scheduled for June 28th in New Glarus.

Old Business

Dan Truttmann has received an estimate from Scott Jelle for landscaping the Town property. Discussion and possibly a decision will follow next month

Dan Reeson received papers and a cost of $42,000 about the study and bridge replacement on Poplar Grove Road. He will contact the County as to how much of this cost the Town will actually be responsible for.

New Business

Issues at Recycling Center– A door in the garbage dumpster caused the garbage truck to malfunction when the load was dumped. The driver had to climb up into the truck to rearrange items before the truck would resume operating. Apparently this has happened before. Some guidelines for the recycling supervisor may have to be developed to help prevent this from happening in the future.

Water Softener for Town Hall- Dan Reeson will call around to see what, if anything, can be done to alleviate the discoloration of the plumbing fixtures and damage to the hot water heater.

Driveway Permits– Cheryl Heusek (Gould Hill Rd.)- Dan Reeson move to approve a driveway access permit to Steve and Cheryl Heusek, Steve Hermanson 2nd. Motion carried and $1300.00 collected.

Chuck Guerink (Sawmill Rd.)- Dan Reeson move to approve a driveway access permit to Chuck Guerink, Dan Truttmann 2nd. Motion carried and $1800.00 collected.

Dave Nelson (Pondrose Estates)- Dan Reeson move to approve a driveway access permit to Dave Nelson, Dan Truttmann 2nd. Motion carried and $1800.00 collected.

Adjournment– Dan Truttmann move to adjourn the meeting, Steve Hermanson 2nd. Motion carried. The meeting adjourned at 9:35 P.M.

Respectfully submitted,
Nancy Anderson, Clerk
