Regular Monthly Board Meeting
Tuesday, June 10, 2014
The meeting was called to order at 8:00 P.M. Present were Chairman Dan Reeson, 1st Supervisor Dan Truttmann, 2nd Supervisor Steve Hermanson and Clerk Nancy Anderson. Treasurer Ann Carlson was not present. Verification of proper notice was given. Steve Hermanson move to approve the May, 2014 minutes, Dan Truttmann 2nd. Motion carried.
Treasurer’s Report-The Board reviewed the financial reports Ann had provided before the meeting.
Bills-Wayne Bue presented bills for the tractor bucket repair, and cold patch material for repairing a portion of Yankee Hollow Rd. Nancy also presented a list of bills for approval. Dan Reeson move to approve the bills, Dan Truttmann 2nd. Motion carried.
Patrolman’s Report– Wayne is busy mowing along the roadsides. The tractor rims need to be sanded and painted. Wayne will get estimates.
Old Business
- Plan Commission– Curt Moen and Dan Reeson met with our legal counsel concerning the proposed amendments to the Land Division-Development-Transfer Ordinance. Everything appears fine. While reviewing some of the changes, Steve Hermanson expressed concern about item 7b prohibiting land divisions until after 5 years of ownership. Steve will attend the next Plan Commission meeting to discuss this with its members. A hearing will need to be scheduled to discuss the proposed amendments to the Land Ordinance. Also, a letter needs to be prepared for mailing telling citizens about the new database tracking system.
- Public Comments- Dan Truttmann will contact the trash vendor about adding another recycling dumpster to the recycling center.
New Business
- Propane Contract– Dan Reeson move to prepay Co-op Oil $1529.10 for 900 gallons of LP for this coming heating season, Steve Hermanson 2nd. Motion carried.
- Schedule for Open Book and Board of Review– Steve Hermanson move that the Town of York hold their Open Book session on Friday, June 27th from 3:30 – 5:30 P.M. and the Board of Review on Thursday, July 10th from 7:00 – 9:00 P.M., Dan Truttmann 2nd. Motion carried.
- New “Implements of Husbandry” (IOH) law and options– The Board discussed the new law and the choosing of one of the options A – F. The Board needs more information and guidance before making any decisions on an option, one of which will have to be chosen. The discussion will continue at the July Board meeting.
Driveway Refunds
- Pete Leonard– Dan Reeson move to refund $1000.00 to Pete Leonard, Steve Hermanson 2nd. Motion carried.
- Josh Erb– Since the Board members didn’t have an opportunity to do a final driveway inspection for Josh Erb, Steve Hermanson made a motion to refund Josh Erb $1000.00 contingent on first being inspected and up to code, Dan Truttmann 2nd. Motion carried.
Adjournment– Dan Truttmann move to adjourn the meeting, Steve Hermanson 2nd. Motion carried. The meeting was adjourned at 9:50 P.M.
