Regular Monthly Board Meeting
Tuesday, March 11, 2014

The meeting was called to order at 8:00 P.M. Present were Chairman Dan Reeson, 1st Supervisor Dan Truttmann, Treasurer Ann Carlson, and Clerk Nancy Anderson. 2nd Supervisor Steve Hermanson was absent. Verification of Proper Notice was given. Dan Truttmann move to approve the February minutes, Dan Reeson 2nd. Motion carried.

Treasurer’s Report– Ann Carlson presented the financial statements noting that many large checks had been written to schools and technical colleges both for general property taxes and Payment in lieu of tax.

Bills– Wayne Bue and Nancy both presented bills to be paid. Dan Reeson move to approve the bills, Dan Truttmann 2nd. Motion carried.

Patrolman’s Report– Wayne had patched a pump leak on the Freightliner. Tree cutting by the County on Poplar Grove Road will begin this Thursday for two days. A truck had been rented from the County and used for fifteen hours while the Freightliner truck was being repaired. Dan Ziehli will be hired part time when extra help would be needed for plowing snow.

Plan Commission-Heidi had sent an email to the Board saying that the county now has the new tax parcel data available online. Chip recommends that we update the database to reflect the updated tax info. Heidi and Chip will let the Board know when it will be ready for review.

Public Comments– Ann Carlson noted that a mortgage company paid a tax bill that was attached to the wrong parcel. It was not the fault of the Town. The mortgage company will have to contact the county in an attempt to have the matter corrected.

Old Business

  1. Carrie Czerwonka is willing to help maintain the Town website. A stipend will be addressed at the April meeting.

New Business

  1. Kim and Cindy Peterson Solar Panels- The Plan Commission had approved the installation of free-standing solar panels on the Peterson property at their meeting on March 4, 2014. Dan Reeson move to approve the purchase and installation of solar panels on the Peterson property, Dan Truttmann 2nd. Motion carried.
  2. Database Backup List- Dan Truttmann had priced fireproof file cabinets and found them to be much too costly for the Town’s purposes. A better idea would be to scan our documents and back them up to online storage. One easy and free option would be Google Drive for simple documents. Ann suggested we could scan and save on a hard drive. There will be more discussion next month.
  3. Building Code Ordinance Amendment- Dan Truttmann move to amend the Building Code Ordinance by removing eh previously attached building inspection fee schedule and keeping it separate from the actual ordinance, Dan Reeson 2nd. Motion carried. The supervisors signed the amended ordinance.

Adjournment– Dan Truttmann move to adjourn the meeting, Dan Reeson 2nd. Motion carried. The meeting was adjourned at 9:03 P.M.
