Caucus for April 6, 2021 Election

Please Note: These Caucus minutes are posted as draft-only to inform town residents of the results of the Caucus. These minutes are subject to review and possible revision at next month’s Town Board meeting and should not be considered official until they receive final board approval at that time.
The Caucus was called to order at 7:00 pm. The Caucus was held as a video conference on Zoom due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Chairman Steve Van Hout, 1st Supervisor Tim Czerwonka, 2nd Supervisor Steve Hermanson, and Clerk-Treasurer Jessie Schlumpf were present. Verification of proper notice was given.

Steve Van Hout chaired the caucus; Steve Van Hout nominated Jessie Schlumpf as the first teller and Bob Bergman volunteered as the second teller (if needed).
Board Chairman- Tim Czerwonka and Kim Peterson declined nominations. Tim Czerwonka nominated Dan Truttmann; second by Bob Bergman. Steve Van Hout moved to close the nominations for Board Chairman.
The Chair recognized Todd Larson regarding desirability of experience on the Board. Training is available through the Wisconsin Towns Association in the event of all new members on the Board. Steve Van Hout reiterated that past Board members will help with any transition.
First Supervisor- Tim Czerwonka nominated Alicia Hyberger; second by Bethany Emond-Storm. Ms. Hyberger accepted the nomination and later declined the nomination. Tim Czerwonka declined a nomination. Todd Larson nominated April Prusia; second by Arlo Paust. Steve Van Hout moved to close the nominations for First Supervisor.
Second Supervisor- Steve Hermanson nominated Travis Leonard; second by Dan Truttmann. Jerilyn George nominated Arlo Paust, second by Bethany Emond-Storm. Steve Van Hout moved to close the nominations for Second Supervisor.
Tim Czerwonka asked that each candidate provide a candidate statement for posting on the Town of York website. The candidates were asked to speak briefly about themselves. The current Board members were thanked for their service and all candidates were thanked for stepping forward.
Adjournment- Dan Truttmann moved to adjourn the caucus; second by Heidi Hankley. Motion carried. The caucus adjourned at 7:40 pm.
