Regular Monthly Board Meeting
Tuesday, April 9, 2019

The meeting was called to order at 8:02 P.M. 1st Supervisor Tim Czerwonka, 2nd Supervisor Steve Hermanson, Treasurer Ann Carlson, and Clerk Nancy Anderson were all present along with citizens Wes and Marci Watrud. Chairman Dan Reeson was absent. Verification of proper notice was given. Tim Czerwonka move to approve the March minutes, Steve Hermanson 2nd the motion. Motion carried.

Treasurer’s Report– Ann noted that income of $30,000 for our new truck loan was added to our checking account. A payment of $98,979.50 for the new truck was also added to our expenses.

Bills– Nancy, Steve, and Ann presented bills to be paid. Tim Czerwonka move to approve the bills to be paid, Steve Hermanson 2nd the motion. Motion carried.

Patrolman’s Report– Wayne has been busy maintaining the Town equipment and helping with brush cutting on several roads in the Town.

Driveway Permit– Shawn Meuer- Shawn was not present to obtain a permit.

Driveway Refunds

  • Jay Schaffgem (Near York Church on State Rd. 39) – The culverts didn’t look quite right to the Board Supervisors. Steve Hermanson will contact the County/and/or State to determine whose responsibility it is to correct and repair the culverts. The matter will be taken up again at the May meeting.

Plan Commission

  • Wes and Marci Watrud Land Division– Wes and Marci received approval from the Plan Commission to proceed with the land division. Steve Hermanson move to approve the Land Division for Wes and Marci Watrud, Tim Czerwonka 2nd the motion. Motion carried.

Public Comments

  • Heidi Hankley and Stephen VanHout will be attending a new officials meeting in Barneveld and also Board of Review training. The Board will pay for attendance and also mileage.

Old Business

  • LP Furnace Replacement (under Town Hall)– Monroe Heating and Sheet Metal has done some temporary repairs on the furnace, but it needs to be replaced soon, preferably before the next heating season.
  • Heating Town Hall– In addition to the maintenance down under the Town Hall, the furnace in the Town Hall itself, revealed several problems which were repaired. It was suggested that the Town invest in an app to remotely adjust the thermostat, since the Hall is used infrequently. Steve Hermanson move to approve the purchase of a new downstairs garage furnace from Monroe Heating and Sheet Metal for $1522 and a digital, programmable Honeywell thermostat for $258 for the Town Hall, Tim Czerwonka 2nd the motion. Motion carried.
  • Insulation– Steve also obtained an estimate from Midwest Heating and Insulation of $25,900 for insulating the Town Hall and replacing the windows. The Town will try to get an energy efficiency evaluation of the Hall before moving forward on this matter. More on this matter next month.
  • Shelving for assessment rolls– Tim Czerwonka searched for suitable heavy duty shelving for the ever accumulating assessment rolls. Steve Hermanson move to purchase a heavy duty shelving unit with one extra shelf from Menard’s for $181.69, Tim Czerwonka 2nd the motion. Motion carried.

Adjournment– Tim Czerwonka move to adjourn the meeting, Steve Hermanson 2nd the motion. Motion carried. The meeting adjourned at 9:12 P.M.
