Plan Commission Monthly Board Meeting
Tuesday, February 6, 2018
8 p.m.

The February meeting of the York Township Plan Commission was called to order by Chairman Curt Moen on February 6, 2018 at 8:08 P.M. Verification of legal posting on the Township Website and at the York Town Hall was given by Moen. Plan Commission members in attendance were Moen, Brandi Lyda, Linda Yates, and Terri Nipple. Also attending the meeting were 4 members of the RLCC, Bethany Storm, Nana Schowalter, Bob Bergman and April Prussia.

Minutes of the January meeting were read and corrected. Lyda motioned for approval of the corrected minutes, seconded by Yates. The minutes were approved.

Old Business
Members of the RLCC did a presentation and led a discussion updating the Plan Commission on the proposed Town of York Animal Facilities Siting Ordinance. They informed the Plan Commission that the proposed ordinance had been reviewed by an attorney from Midwest Environmental Services. The attorney recommended a few minor changes. The draft was updated as recommended. Midwest Environmental Services has vetted the proposed ordinance. Following the RLCC’s presentation, Lyda made a motion that the Plan Commission forward the proposed ordinance to the York Town Board for approval. Motion seconded by Nipple. Motion passed.

The York Township Plan Commission expressed deep appreciation for all the research, hard work, and time that the RLCC has put into this project.

In other old business, the Plan Commission learned that the Town Board had approved the RLCC’s request for reimbursement for some of the water testing costs.

Moen reported that he had not heard back from the Highway Commissioner regarding bridge specifications.

In regards to the Vanessa Tess land transfer, Moen reported that Tess mailed the completed transfer documents to Nancy Anderson, York Township Secretary. Anderson forwarded them by mail to Moen. Moen signed the form and forwarded it back to the Town Board for their approval. As the transaction was not a request for land division, only a land transfer; the matter did not have to come before the Plan Commission for approval. However, bringing the matter to the attention of the Plan Commission and Town Board helps the Township to maintain its Dwelling Allotment Data Base.

Yates made a motion to adjourn, seconded by Lyda. Moen adjourned the meeting at 9:38 P.M.

The next meeting is scheduled for March 6, 2018.

The Plan Commission did not meet on March 6, 2018.

The April meeting of the Plan Commission will meet on Wednesday, April 4 due to an Election to be held on April 3 at the York Town Hall.

(Respectfully submitted by Terri Nipple, Plan Commission Secretary).
