Town of York
Plan Commission Meeting
March 5, 2019
Chairman Curt Moen called the March meeting of the York Township Plan Commission to order on March 5, 2019 at 7:04 p.m. Moen verified posting on the township website and at the York Town Hall. Roll call was taken with Moen, Marselino Miranda, Bethany Storm, Linda Yates and Terri Nipple all present.
The minutes of the previous meeting were read and a correction made. Storm moved to approve the minutes as corrected. Miranda seconded the motion. The minutes were approved.
Old Business: Moen had nothing new to report regarding old business.
New Business: This year’s review of the Comprehensive Plan consisted of a discussion of concerns regarding the operation of the township. The Plan Commission focused on Safety Concerns. Discussion regarding some intersections of township subdivisions and county highways were discussed. Some roads discussed were the intersection of Amber Ridge Subdivision and County Road J and others. There are no stop signs or yield signs as drivers leave subdivisions. Another concern was that many private township plow drivers do not have the capability to salt the private subdivision roads. As more homes are being built, the township needs to consider the safety of the residents and taxpayers and especially children riding school buses.
Another intersection of concern is the intersection of County Road J and State Road 39.
The Plan Commission wishes to commend the Township and County Drivers on the care of our roads during the harsh winter. The driver’s hard work and dedication was appreciated.
The next Plan Commission meeting night falls on the date of the Spring Election. Therefore, the April meeting will be held on Wednesday, April 3, 2019 at 7 p.m.
A motion was made by Marselino Miranda to adjourn the meeting. The motion was seconded by Storm.
The meeting was adjourned by Moen at 8:00 p.m.
(Respectfully submitted by Terri Nipple, Plan Commission Secretary).
