Plan Commission Monthly Board Meeting

The York Township Plan Commission met on January 3, 2017 in the York Town Hall. The meeting was called to order by Chairman Curt Moen at 8:08 P. M. Legal posting was verified by Moen. Plan Commission members in attendance were Moen, Linda Yates, and Terri Nipple. Others in attendance were Nana Schowalter, Bob Bergmann, Bethany Storm, and April Prussia, all representing the RLCC and Kris Marion and Aubrey Lasche.

Minutes of the December 6, 2016 meeting were read. Yates made a motion to approve the minutes as read, seconded by Moen. Motion passed.

Old Business:

  • No further correspondence regarding Artis Valen’s proposal.
  • No further communication on the Helmeid/Zander proposal.

New Business:

  • Members of the RLCC reported that they are in the second read-thru of their final draft of a Livestock Siting Ordinance that they plan to present to the Plan Commission and Town Board for approval in the near future. They plan to do one more read-thru working on consistent wording before bringing the proposed ordinance before the Plan Commission and Town Board. They have been meeting twice monthly except during the month of December. Dan Stefenel, an environmental Science resident of the Township has also been volunteering as a resource. He will be adding an appendix to the document.
  • The Plan Commission acted on a request to approve a six month extension of the Township CAFO Moratorium. A motion was made by Yates to extend the present Moratorium from April 2017 to October 2017. The motion was seconded by Moen. Motion passed.

A motion to adjourn the meeting was made by Yates, seconded by Nipple. The meeting was adjourned at 9:10 P.M.

The next meeting of the York Township Plan Commission is planned for February 7, 2017.
