Town of York
Special Town Board Meeting
Friday, September 4, 2015
The meeting began at 10:00 A.M. at the garage beneath the Town Hall. Present were Chairman Dan Reeson, 1st Supervisor Tim Czerwonka, 2nd Supervisor Steve Hermanson, Clerk Nancy Anderson, Patrolman Wade Jones, and International Truck Representative Rob Eckman.
Inspection of the truck determined that there is a space on the front frame extension, due to it being added on, that needs to be sealed with a weld to prevent salt and moisture from getting in and causing corrosion. Rob told us that he will have Monroe Truck put a weld on it. There is a warranty from Lakeside International that warrants the structural integrity of the bolt on the front frame extension for the time that York owns and operates the truck and a five year warranty on the paint on the bolt of the front frame extension.
The agreed price the Town Board had voted on was for $95,625.00. The bill of sale however is for $96,125.00. Rob will determine why there is a discrepancy. In the meantime, we will hold the check.
If Lakeside International Truck contracts with the Town to sell our Freightliner truck, they will need a minimum of $2,000.00 for selling on consignment. There is actually a graduated fee depending on the actual selling price. The Board may choose first to try selling the truck on their own.
The final concern was whether or not the new truck will fit inside the garage bay under the Town Hall. After measuring, the garage bay is thirty-one feet two inches (31’ 2”) and the new truck measures thirty feet six inches (30’ 6”).
After the meeting, Rob drove the truck down to Monroe Truck where all the necessary equipment will be added.
Respectfully submitted,
Nancy Anderson, Clerk
