Regular Monthly Board Meeting
Tuesday, April 11, 2017
The meeting was called to order at 8:00 P.M. Present were Chairman Dan Reeson, 1st Supervisor Tim Czerwonka, 2nd Supervisor Steve Hermanson, Treasurer Ann Carlson, and Clerk Nancy Anderson. Others present were Dave Green, William Kuenzi, Kathy Raymond, Bruce Sinkula, and Donald Ferguson. Verification of notice was given. After Steve Hermanson noted a small change that needed to be made in the March minutes, Dan Reeson moved to approve the March minutes, Tim Czerwonka 2nd the motion. Motion carried.
Treasurer’s Report– Ann Carlson noted that March had relatively little activity. We had both a premium refund and an audit refund from Rural Mutual Insurance for a total of $1664.00.
Bills– Dan Reeson move to approve the April bills, Tim Czerwonka 2nd the motion. Motion carried.
Patrolman’s Report-None available.
Driveway Permit- Bruce Sinkula (Pondrose Estates Lot 19)- Dan Reeson move to approve a driveway application for Bruce Sinkula, Steve Hermanson 2nd the motion. Motion carried and $1800.00 collected.
Plan Commission-The PC is currently reviewing the Livestock Siting Ordinance, a document initiated by the Rural Land Commission Committee. Steve would also like the PC to discuss specifications for bridges on private roads. Don Ferguson, attended the PCs April meeting and gained approval for a parcel division. The next step would be to come before the York Town Board, but since he was not listed on the Board’s agenda, the Board will vote on the matter at the May meeting when it will be properly noticed.
Rural Land Commission Committee– No representative.
Public Comments-Tim Czerwonka briefly reviewed the topics presented at the 2017 Local Government Day in Monroe, noting that the asphalt mix formula has been modified making it more durable and longer lasting. Also, the Annual Meeting is next Tuesday, April 18th at 8:00 P.M.

- Historical Marker for Cemetery– Dave Green, President of the Green’s Prairie Cemetery Association has prepared a Wisconsin Historical Marker Application Form to be sent to the Historical Society for consideration. Dan Reeson move to appoint Dave Green, President of the Green’s Prairie Cemetery Association, to be in charge of ordering the Historical Marker, Steve Hermanson 2nd the motion. Motion carried. Dan Reeson signed a letter authorizing Dave Green to submit the application on behalf of the York Town Board.
- Broadband and Fund Raising (Green County Leaders)– Kathy Raymond of the Green County Leaders is reaching out to municipalities in Green County, asking for a donation of $750.00 and a letter of support in order to be part of this initiative to increase Broadband access in Green County. Steve Hermanson move to contribute $750.00 from the Town of York to Green County Development Corporation toward the grant for expansion of Broadband in Green County, Tim Czerwonka 2nd the motion. Motion carried.
- Acceptable Steel Bin Items for Recycling– The Board scanned a long list of items that are being accepted by the Alter Iron Recycling Company in Monroe. A closer look will take place at the May meeting as to which items the York Recycling Center will accept.
- Timeline for FEMA classes– Nancy will inform each member as to which classes they will need to complete.
Adjournment– Steve Hermanson move to adjourn the meeting, Tim Czerwonka 2nd the motion. Motion carried. The meeting adjourned at 9:10 P.M.
