Regular Monthly Board Meeting
Tuesday, April 10, 2018

The meeting was called to order at 8:00 P.M. Present were Chairman Dan Reeson, 1st Supervisor Tim Czerwonka, 2nd Supervisor Steve Hermanson, Treasurer Ann Carlson, and Clerk Nancy Anderson, along with Rural Land Commission members, Nana Schowalter, Bob Bergman, Bethany Storm, and April Prusia. Verification of proper notice was given. Dan Reeson move to approve the March minutes, Tim Czerwonka 2nd the motion. Motion carried.

Treasurer’s Report- Ann noted that March was a slow month with little activity. We paid the quarterly fee of $1500 to our assessor and took in $1800 for a driveway permit.

Bills-Nancy presented bills to be paid. Dan Reeson move to approve the bills, Tim Czerwonka 2nd the motion. Motion carried.

Patrolman’s Report-Dan reported that the old plow truck had broken down while plowing snow. A pressurized hose had broke causing oil to leak out, reducing pressure and then the truck just stopped. The hose has been repaired.

Driveway Refund- Andrew Culp- Badger Rd.-Since building a home has been postponed for a number of years, the Board will need to review our process to determine the proper amount to refund to Mr. Culp. The matter will be addressed again at the May meeting.

Public Comments-Dan had some brochures to share with the Board and RLCC members pertaining to Tornado Awareness Training, and the New Glarus Public Library Capital Campaign.

New Business

  • Approve Mad City Velo Bike Club race– The Bike Club has changed their course from the original route for the race, and will not be using any Town roads for this event. The only roads being used in the Town of York are County Roads. No approval is needed from the Board. Nancy will contact the race organizer Steve Wehrley.
  • Steve VanHout-Dip in York Center Rd. – Steve Van Hout is concerned about the condition of York Center Rd. where a dip is present on a bridge located near his property. The dip could be considered dangerous in many ways for cars, motorcycles, bikes, and so forth. The Town Board will be holding its annual road inspection on Thursday, April 19th and will determine what repairs need to be made.
  • Approve Livestock Siting Ordinance– After a public hearing presented on March 13th by the Rural Land Commission Committee members, the Board has decided to approve the ordinance. Steve Hermanson move to approve the Livestock Siting Ordinance, Tim Czerwonka 2nd the motion. With there being no discussion on the matter, the motion was carried. Extend Moratorium until October 13th- Since the Livestock Ordinance was approved, there is no need to extend the Moratorium.

Adjournment– Tim Czerwonka moved to adjourn the meeting, Steve Hermanson 2nd the motion. Motion carried. The meeting adjourned at 8:30 P.M.
