Regular Monthly Board Meeting
Tuesday, December 12, 2017

The meeting was called to order at 8:00 P.M. Present were Chairman Dan Reeson, 1st Supervisor Tim Czerwonka, 2nd Supervisor Steve Hermanson, Treasurer Ann Carlson, and Clerk Nancy Anderson. Also attending were Nana Schowalter, Bob Bergman, Meg Pokorney, and Bob Marks. Verification of proper notice was given. Tim Czerwonka move to approve the November meeting minutes, Steve Hermanson 2nd the motion. Motion carried.

Treasurer’s Report-Ann noted that the Town received a Shared Revenue payment in the amount of $6108.30. The tax bills have been mailed out.
Bills-Dan Reeson move to approve the bills, Steve Hermanson 2nd the motion. Motion carried.

Patrolman’s Report-A new oil pan was installed on the older truck. Tony Butler will be helping with the snowplowing this coming season.

Driveway Refund-Amanda Wagner (Pondrose Subdivision)-Steve Hermanson move to approve a driveway refund to Amanda Wagner in the amount of $1,000, Tim Czerwonka 2nd the motion. Motion carried.

Old Business

  • Security Cameras for Recycling Center-After some discussion, it was determined that cameras may not be the best solution to prevent someone from entering the Recycling Center while there was not a supervisor on duty. Tim will ask Kim Peterson to purchase a sign to be placed at the entrance gate to discourage trespassers.
  • Handling of fluorescent bulbs– PKK Lighting will be contacted several times throughout the year to pick up the bulbs, eliminating the need for storing the bulbs on site.
  • Recycling Bin Update– An additional recycling bin has been added to facilitate the handling of increased recycling materials.
  • Plan Commission-Bob Marks-Add additional Land- Dan Reeson move to approve adding additional land to land owned by Michelle and Timothy McNamer, Steve Hermanson 2nd the motion. Motion carried.
  • Rural Land Commission Committee-Nana Schowalter spoke about handing out water test kits at the recycling center, and including the results in the “Finding of Facts” section of the Livestock Siting Ordinance. The costs for processing the water testing kits came to $243.85. The RLCC also voted at their last meeting to recommend that the York Town Board adopt the Livestock Siting Ordinance without DATCP approval. A timeline was established for the steps needed to be taken before the Town Board votes to adopt the ordinance. Dan Reeson move to reimburse both Nana Schowalter and April Prusia for the water testing expenses, Steve Hermanson 2nd the motion. Motion carried.
  • Public Comments-None.

New Business

  • Election Poll Workers for 2018-2019 term-Tim Czerwonka move to approve Steve VanHout, Kit Foley, Kelly Hermanson, Heidi Hankley, Marlys Reeson, Linda Yates, Susan Dumbleton, and Harriet Helgesen as poll workers for the 2018-2019 election cycle, Dan Reeson 2nd the motion. Motion carried.
  • Property next to Chuck Bauer Property-Property owner Chuck Bauer is concerned about the accumulating junk on his next door neighbor’s property. Apparently the neighbor had promised to clean up the area, but to date has done nothing. Nancy will call the Green County Zoning Department to ask for their help in this matter.
  • Green County Zoning Changes-A Public Hearing was held to make amendments to several County Ordinances. Six adjacent lots for residences will now be expanded to allow eight driveways to share a common drive or easement access. Also, a Wind Energy System Siting Ordinance was adopted.
