Regular Monthly Board Meeting
Tuesday, July 12th, 2016
The meeting was called to order at 8:00 P.M. Present were Chairman Dan Reeson, 1st Supervisor Tim Czerwonka, 2nd Supervisor Steve Hermanson, Treasurer Ann Carlson, and Clerk Nancy Anderson. Verification of proper notice was given. Tim Czerwonka move to approve the June minutes, Steve Hermanson 2nd the motion. Motion carried.
Treasurer’s Report– Ann Carlson noted that in June we received payments from the State for Managed Forest Law for $6764.93, State fire insurance tax for $3581.84, and a State recycling grant for $836.91.
Patrolman’s Report– Dan Reeson noted that Wayne Bue will begin mowing the roadsides for a second time. The tractor has a leak and will need to be repaired. Also, Dan is still looking for snow plow drivers for this coming winter season. A CDL license is required.
Driveway Refunds– Schultheiss, Jahnke-Sauer and Gahan-Dan Reeson move to approve driveway refunds for Bernhard Schultheiss, Philip Jahnke-Sauer, and Jeffrey Gahan, for a total of $1,000.00, Steve Hermanson 2nd the motion. Motion carried.
Plan Commission– The Plan Commission would like to purchase a computer to help with various tasks. The Board will look into it after determining exactly what it will be used for and how much memory it will require.
Public Comments-None.
Old Business
- Mower Update– Dan and Steve both presented a number of estimates for a new mower. It has to be determined just how powerful a mower the John Deere tractor can manage. Talk also turned to possibly just leasing a tractor/mower unit, since our tractor is already 13 years old and showing signs of wear and tear. This matter will be taken up again at the August Board meeting.
New Business
- Tractor Repairs– The tractor is beginning to need more repairs as time goes by. This matter will be discussed again at the August Board meeting.
- WTA “Just Fix It” Resolution– The Wisconsin Towns Association is heading up the effort to encourage our Governor and Legislators to include more funds in the budget for deteriorating roads in our State, to stop this delay and “Just Fix It”. All State roads are in need of repair. Dan Reeson move to approve a resolution to “Just Fix It”, Tim Czerwonka 2nd the motion. Motion carried. Copies will be sent to the Wisconsin Towns Association, our State Legislators and Governor Walker.
- Reschedule August Board meeting– Due to the August Partisan Primary taking place on Tuesday, August 9th, Steve Hermanson move to hold our next meeting on Wednesday August 10th at 8:00 P.M., Tim Czerwonka 2nd the motion. Motion carried.
Adjournment– Steve Hermanson move to adjourn the meeting, Tim Czerwonka 2nd the motion. Motion carried. The meeting adjourned at 9:10 P.M.
