Monthly Board Meeting
Tuesday, July 9, 2019
The meeting was called to order at 7:40 PM. Town Chairman Steve Van Hout, 1st Supervisor Tim Czerwonka, 2nd Supervisor Steve Hermanson, Treasurer Ann Carlson, and Clerk Heidi Hankley were all present. Also present was town resident Jesse Straubhaar. Verification of proper notice was given. Meeting minutes for the Tuesday, June 11, 2019 Board Meeting were presented. Steve Hermanson moved to approve the June 11 minutes as presented, second by Tim Czerwonka. Motion carried.
Treasurer’s Report- Ann Carlson presented her report. Steve Van Hout moved to approve the treasurer’s report as presented, second by Steve Hermanson. Motion carried.
Bills- Heidi and Ann presented bills to be paid. Steve Hermanson made a motion to contract with Allegiant Oil, LLC for 1000 gallons of LP for a pre-pay cost of $0.94 per gallon. Second by Steve Van Hout. Motion carried. Steve Hermanson made a motion to pay dues of $50 to the Green County Unit of the Wisconsin Towns Association for 2019-2021. Second by Steve Van Hout. Motion carried. Steve Van Hout made a motion to approve the other bills as presented, second by Tim Czerwonka. Motion carried.
Patrolman’s Report- Patrolman Wayne Bue was not present, but he let the board know he will be working on reshaping town lanes soon. Steve Hermanson will work with Wayne to get trees trimmed on Gould Hill Rd. and Badger Rd.
Plan Commission Report- There was no report from the Plan Commission.
Public Comment- A town resident inquired about the driveway permit process, driveway location regulations, and zoning regulations for campers and trailers. The town board will consult with the county and also review the town’s driveway ordinance regarding these questions.
Old Business-
- Parcel database updates and process review- Tim Czerwonka reported that the updates have been made by Dawn Doran and is facilitating the upload of the current data to the town website. The board discussed performing a review of the parcel database process and will address this at the next board meeting.
- Power and lighting at recycling shed- Steve Van Hout reported that the pole has been delivered and the installation work is underway.
Town hall spruce up- Heidi is working on going through and clearing out records that we can dispose of. The board will consider paint and other improvements at the next meeting.
New Business-
- Insta-chains- Steve Hermanson reported that it would cost about $3500 to put electrically activated chains on the new truck. The board opted to pursue less-expensive standard chains.
- Speed limit on Poplar Grove Rd.- In response to a resident complaint about speeding, Steve Van Hout moved to reduce the speed limit on Poplar Grove Rd. to 45 mph and install two speed limit signs, one on each end of the road. Second by Tim Czerwonka. Motion carried.
- Bridge Inspections- Steve Van Hout received state inspection reports for two bridges in the town that need repairs, located on Badger Rd. and Gould Hill Rd. Some of the work can probably be done by Wayne, but there is some riprap needed that we will likely have to contract out to the County. Steve Van Hout will call and find out when the repairs are required to be done.
Adjournment- Steve Hermanson moved to adjourn the meeting, second by Tim Czerwonka. Motion carried. The meeting adjourned at 9:50 pm.
