Patrolman’s Report– Dan reported that Wayne Bue has completed mowing for the season. Several men have been hired for winter snow removal. Wayne is helping them ease into the season. Winter storage is needed to house our newly purchased mower. The Board will look into this matter.
Driveway Refunds–
- Vladimir Bulat– Dan inspected the driveway but is not certain what Mr. Bulat is planning to do. Dan will have to speak to him before the Board can make a decision on the refund.
Plan Commission-The Board is currently reviewing documents for the Ardis Valen property, but still has questions before approving the paper work.
Rural Land Commission– No representative present.
Public Comments–
- Nancy asked who was planning to run for office again for the 2017-2018 term so that the notice could be published in the local papers. At this time, all officers are planning to run for another term.
- Also, is there any alternative time to bring trash and recyclables to the Recycling Center if Saturday hours are inconvenient? It is the Board’s position that Saturday morning hours from 8:00 – 12:00 year round work best for most residents. For others, it is recommended they hire their own removal service as some others in the Town already are doing so for various reasons.
Old Business
- Budget Planning-Ann presented the proposed budget for 2017. A few accounts needed to be amended as some costs such as insurance and fire and ambulance protection continue to rise. The revised budget will be available to all those attending the Budget Hearing on Tuesday, November 15th at 8:00 P.M.
- Resign Signature Page for Land Ordinance-Due to a typo last month, the Board re-signed the signature page of the amended Land Ordinance.
New Business
- Review New Glarus EMS Contract– The current contract will be in effect for the next three years at $18.78 per population. The 2017 contract will be 280 x $18.78. 2018 and 2019 will be population TBD x $18.78. Dan Reeson move to approve the contract, Tim Czerwonka 2nd the contract. Motion carried.
- Larry/Janelle Friedrich Well Cover– At some point the cover on a newer well was found lying on the ground. No one can be certain as to how or why that would have happened.
- Bridge Maintenance Form-The Board reviewed the report noting that in a few instances, fences were attached to bridges and should not be. Another area needs to be rip rapped. There was no action taken at this time.
- Salt Price Increase-Due to changes in quarry ownership, the Town has fewer sources for road salt. It will now cost $72.50 per ton.
Adjournment– Steve Hermanson move to adjourn the meeting, Tim Czerwonka 2nd the motion. Motion carried.
Respectfully submitted,
Nancy Anderson, Clerk
