Regular Monthly Board Meeting
Tuesday, October 11th, 2016
The meeting was called to order at 8:00 P.M. Present were Chairman Dan Reeson, 1st Supervisor Tim Czerwonka, 2nd Supervisor Steve Hermanson, Treasurer Ann Carlson, and Clerk Nancy Anderson. Nana Schowalter, Bob Bergman, April Prusia, Meg Pokorney, Dick Ruf, and Ron Erickson were also in attendance. Verification of proper notice was given. Steve Hermanson move to approve the minutes of the September meeting, Tim Czerwonka 2nd the motion. Motion carried.
Treasurer’s Report-Ann noted that we paid the remainder on our road repair bills for this year in the amount of $53,254.26, and there should be one more payment to our assessor for $1500.00.
Bills– Nancy presented bills to be paid. Dan Reeson move to approve the bills, Tim Czerwonka 2nd the motion. Motion carried.
Patrolman’s Report– Dan noted that Wayne has been mowing the roadsides, and doing some grading.
Rural Land Commission Committee– Funds needed for additional map-The RLCC needs $40.00 for one more informational map. The money will come from our Land Savings Account.
Old Business
- Mower, Tractor Update– The mower is ready and should be here any day now. Dick Ruf of Hennessey Implement was on hand to help the Board make a decision to purchase a New Holland Tractor. After some discussion, Steve Hermanson made a motion to buy a New Holland TS6-140 tractor with our John Deere 6220 tractor as a trade for a price of $40,500 which includes an 845 loader, with two buckets, a grapple, and a third control on the joystick, Dan Reeson 2nd the motion. Motion carried.
- Newsletter articles due today– Nancy reminded Board members that news articles for the annual newsletter are due now.
New Business
- Ron Erickson/New Glarus Fire District– There will be no increase in the budget, but bunker pants and coats, some helmets, air bottles, masks and hoses are being replaced as they become outdated. A new pumper truck will be purchased in 2019 or 2020. Twenty-five years is considered the life of a pumper truck. Also, York will be responsible for $4500 for each of the next two years to help fund the new building addition. Steve Hermanson move to approve the New Glarus Fire District 2016-20187 budget of $165,000 with our portion being $13,443.70 plus two years of $4435.65 for the building allocation, Tim Czerwonka 2nd the motion. Motion carried.
- Bob Bergman-Purchase old propane heater-Steve Hermanson move to sell an old propane heater to Bob Bergman for $300.00, Tim Czerwonka 2nd the motion. Motion carried.
- Budget Planning-Ann went over the proposed budget with the Board, and will finalize it at our November Board meeting.
- Approve Amendment to Land Division Ordinance and Relinquishment Form-After discussion at a recent public hearing, Tim Czerwonka move to approve the amendment to Land Division Ordinance #16-03 and the accompanying Relinquishment Form, Dan Reeson 2nd the motion. Motion carried.
- Reschedule November Town Board Meeting– To avoid a conflict with the upcoming November Presidential Election, Dan Reeson move to schedule the next Board meeting for Wednesday, November 9th at 8:00 P.M., Steve Hermanson 2nd the motion. Motion carried.
- Dan Reeson move to Schedule the November Budget Hearing for Tuesday, November 15th at 8:00 P.M., Steve Hermanson 2nd the motion. Motion carried.
