Regular Monthly Board Meeting
Tuesday, September 13th, 2016
The meeting was called to order at 8:00 P.M. Present were Chairman Dan Reeson, 1st Supervisor Tim Czerwonka, 2nd Supervisor Steve Hermanson, and Clerk Nancy Anderson, along with Bob Bergman, Nana Schowalter, Bill Kuenzi, Dave Green, Sandra Erb, Jim Jensen, Mark Harried, Bob Gore, and Kyle and Amanda Ruden. Treasurer Ann Carlson was absent. Verification of proper notice was given. Steve Hermanson move to approve the August minutes, Tim Czerwonka 2nd the motion. Motion carried.
Treasurer’s Report- The August financial statements indicate that York received its second half of the tax levy in the amount of $66,145.11.
Bills- Nancy presented current bills to be paid. Dan Reeson move to approve the bills, Tim Czerwonka 2nd the motion. Motion carried.
Patrolman’s Report- The patrolman was not available to report.
Driveway Permits
- Sandra Erb- Dan Reeson move to approve a driveway for Sandra Erb, Tim Czerwonka 2nd the motion. Motion carried. $1800.00 collected.
- Mark Harried (field road)- Dan Reeson move to approve a field road driveway for Mark Harried, Steve Hermanson 2nd the motion. Motion carried. No fee was collected.
- Bob Gore (Lot 13, Prairie Brook Subdivision)-Dan Reeson move to approve a driveway for Bob Gore, Steve Hermanson 2nd the motion. Motion carried. $1800.00 collected.
- Kyle and Amanda Ruden (Lot 3, Cty A & Cty J)- Dan Reeson move to approve a driveway for Kyle and Amanda Ruden, Tim Czerwonka 2nd the motion. Motion carried. $1800.00 collected.
Rural Land Commission Committee- Nana Schowalter spoke about 5 maps that were printed showing the structure of the soil and ground in the Town. Expenses were $49.36. The RLCC would like to conduct a pre-meeting the evening of the October 11th Board meeting from 7:30 – 8:00 P.M. to inform interested persons about what they are currently doing and hope to achieve. The group is currently drafting a Siting Ordinance and will have an extra meeting on September 19th.
Public Comments- Nancy was concerned about potential snow plow drivers for the winter. Dan noted he has several drivers lined up for the task.
Old Business
- The Board looked at two estimates for a new tractor that Steve Hermanson had gotten from local implement dealers. The matter will be placed on the October agenda.
New Business
- Bill Kuenzi-Green’s Prairie Cemetery Annual Report- Bill Kuenzi gave an annual report on the activities and progress that has been happening at GPC, including election of officers. The full report can be found on the Town of York website. Dave Green, newly elected president of GPC spoke about having a historical marker put on the site. It will require the Town to make the application. Dan Reeson move to have the Town apply for a historical marker for the Green’s Prairie Cemetery, Steve Hermanson 2nd the motion. Motion carried.
- Discuss raising the levy limit-The Board reviewed a sample resolution for raising the levy limit, however, felt it probably would not be needed this year, but possibly in the near future.
- Newsletter articles due October 11th – York will publish its annual newsletter at the end of October. Any articles for the publication are due by October 11th .
- WTA Transportation Meeting- A special meeting will be held on September 29th in every county in Wisconsin. Green County will conduct its meeting at the Justice Center in Monroe at 7:00 P.M. Participants are asked to bring photos and examples of needed repairs for local roads and bridges. The state legislature needs to be made aware of roads that have fallen into disrepair due to lack of adequate transportation funds. Hopefully this meeting will bring forth evidence to push our state legislators to provide more funds to local communities for necessary road repairs.
