Town Board Special Meeting
Wednesday, August 5, 2020

Please Note: These Town Board meeting minutes are posted as draft-only to inform town residents of the topics addressed at the board meeting. These minutes are subject to review and possible revision at next month’s Town Board meeting and should not be considered official until they receive final board approval at that time.

The meeting was called to order at 7:30 pm. Chairman Steve Van Hout, 1st Supervisor Tim Czerwonka, 2nd Supervisor Steve Hermanson, Treasurer Ann Carlson, and Clerk Heidi Hankley were present. Town resident Jessica Schlumpf was also in attendance. Verification of proper notice was given.

Discussion regarding combining the town clerk and treasurer position and appointing a new person to take over from current clerk and treasurer-
The board engaged in a discussion about combining the town’s clerk and treasurer positions and appointing a new person to fill that roll since the current clerk, Heidi Hankley, and current treasurer, Ann Carlson, are interested in resigning their positions. The town board advertised the clerk-treasurer position in the local newspapers to identify any town residents interested in the position. Jessica Schlumpf inquired about the position and the board interviewed her in open session as per Jessica’s request. The board found that Jessica is well-qualified and would like to appoint her to the position.

Combining the town clerk and town treasurer must be done by a vote of the town electors. Steve Van Hout made a motion to hold a special meeting of town electors on Tuesday, August 25, 2020 at 7:30 pm., via Zoom video conferencing, to vote on combining the town clerk and treasurer positions; second by Tim Czerwonka. Motion carried.

Adjournment- Steve Hermanson moved to adjourn the meeting; second by Tim Czerwonka. Motion carried. The meeting adjourned at 9:35 pm.

Respectfully submitted, Heidi Hankley, Clerk
