Regular Monthly Town Board Meeting
Tuesday, April 12th, 2011
Dan Reeson installed Nancy Anderson to the office of Clerk for another two year term. Nancy, in turn, installed Dan Reeson as Town Chair, Dan Truttmann as 1st Supervisor, Steve Hermanson as 2nd Supervisor, and newcomer, Ann Carlson, as the Treasurer.
The meeting was called to order at 8:25 P.M. following the public hearing and installation of officers. Present were Chair Dan Reeson, 1st Supervisor, Dan Truttmann, 2nd Supervisor Steve Hermanson, Treasurer Ann Carlson and Clerk Nancy Anderson, along with two concerned citizens. Verification of proper notice was given. After a minor change, Dan Reeson move to approve the March minutes, Dan Truttmann 2nd. Motion carried.
Treasurer’s Report– Ann Carlson presented the January through March, 2011 Profit & Loss Budget to the Board.
Bills– Several bills were presented, and Wayne also had a check for $115.20 for recycling our aluminum cans. Dan Reeson move to pay the bills, Dan Truttmann 2nd. Motion carried.
Patrolman’s Report– There was a washout on Loyalty Road and Wayne will need to get some breaker rock. The pressure washer is not working, and Wayne will be taken to Terry Sutherland for repairs. Also, narrow band radios will be required soon and the Town needs to make sure that both the trucks are properly equipped.
Plan Commission– Don Anderson tendered his resignation on the Plan Commission, citing conflict with his work schedule. In addition, both Curt Moen and Sean Shilling’s terms expire this month. Curt is willing to
stay on if asked. Two new members will be needed to complete the five member Commission. The Rural Land Conservation Committee is also in need of members. Nancy will put an article in the newspaper looking for applicants.
Public Comments- Karen Hughes, recycling supervisor, had a few comments and requests to the board. She would like a snow fence or chain link fence installed to help keep paper from littering the area. Signs for e-cycling need to be posted. Also, the aluminum can containment area should be moved away from the supervisor shed. And finally, she would like to purchase a step stool and receive a tetanus shot.
Old Business:
Salt Shed Electrical Service Update– The electrical service has been installed in the new salt shed at a cost around $1500.00.
Driveway Refund List Update– Nancy went over the list with the Board to make sure they have all the requests for refunds before they begin their inspections.
New Business:
Updating Website– Todd Carlson has stated that he doesn’t mind doing the updates, but there may come a time when he will not have the time to do it anymore. Ann will try to learn the ins and outs to help others, including the Plan Commission, learn the process.
Road Repairs– The Town Board will be doing a road repair check on Monday, April 25th. Also, the night time sign check will need to be done before 2012.
WTA Online Education Service– The WI Towns Assn. will be offering a video educational service for a fee of $100.00 per year. Only subscribers will be given a password to view the videos. Dan Reeson move to pay $100.00 to subscribe to the video service, Dan Truttmann 2nd. Motion carried.
Weed Notice– The weed notice is ready for publication and will be published by the first part of May.
Topics for Annual Meeting– The Board will talk about the new shed and repairs that need to be done on the old shed, and any other business that comes up.
Driveway Refund– Todd and Ann Carlson- Dan Truttmann move to approve the driveway refund of $500.00 for Todd and Ann Carlson, Steve Hermanson 2nd. Motion carried.
Adjournment– Dan Truttmann move to adjourn, Steve Hermanson 2nd. Motion carried. The meeting was adjourned at 9:50 P.M.
