Town of York
Regular Monthly Board Meeting
January 10, 2012
The meeting was called to order at 8:00 P.M. Present were Chairman Dan Reeson, 1st Supervisor Dan Truttmann, 2nd Supervisor Steve Hermanson, Treasurer Ann Carlson, and Clerk Nancy Anderson. Verification of proper notice was given. After a minor change in the December minutes, Dan Truttmann move to approve the December minutes, Steve Hermanson 2nd. Motion carried.
Treasurer’s Report- Ann presented the December Profit and Loss statement along with the Profit & Loss Budget vs. Actual for the entire year. Some discussion ensued concerning the categorizing of some expenses for the year. A few changes were made to everyone’s satisfaction.
Bills– There were two bills from Freightliner one for a fan belt repair and a second for the engine light being on, one from Argyle Lumber for safety glass, one from Bell Signs, and one from Kranig Excavating. Wayne would like to order a filter with a primer on it for $172.000. Steve Hermanson move to approve the bills, Dan Truttmann 2nd. Motion carried.
Patrolman-There is a problem with the differential on the IHC truck that needs to be checked out.
New Business
Road Sign Assessment- New signs needed if reflectivity is failing. Wayne took an inventory of road signs during the day, but we still need to check the reflectivity at night. Command signs need to be replaced first, followed by caution signs, then informational signs.
Roger Mahlkuch-Rural Insurance– We currently have a $250.00 deductible with an annual premium of $4220.00. If we go to a $500.00 deductible, our premium will be $3840, a savings of $380.00. Dan Reeson move to change our $250.00 deductible on our business owners’ policy to $500.00, Steve Hermanson 2nd. Motion carried. The change became effective on December 3, 2011. The value of $87,000.00 will be left on the IHC truck.
Plan Commission– Dan Truttmann attended the Plan Commission meeting and the FLP map was gone over again. More small areas were found, but it would be helpful to have someone who is more familiar with the land in some areas take a look at the map, too. The additional $500.00 which goes into the RLCC fund and is attached to driveway permits when building a home was discussed. That needs to be carefully looked at once more to avoid duplication of fees. The Plan Commission really is not in favor of changing the billboard ordinance to allow signs for subdivisions. Based on the Town’s vision statement, they want to prohibit the signs to maintain the rural setting.
Old Business
Wayne Bue Wage Increase– Dan Truttmann move to increase Wayne’s wage fifty cents an hour to $18.00 per hour, Steve Hermanson 2nd. Motion carried
Amend Budget– The Board made several amendments to the budget. Ann will make the changes and send it to the Board.
Driveway Refund– Steve Hermanson move to approve a driveway refund for Dan Reeson, Dan Truttmann 2nd. A check for $1000.00 will be issued.
Adjournment– Dan Truttmann move to adjourn the meeting, Steve Hermanson 2nd. Motion carried. The meeting adjourned at 9:50 P.M.
Respectfully submitted,
Nancy Anderson
