Regular Monthly Town Board Meeting
Tuesday, March 8th, 2011
The meeting was called to order at 8:03 P.M. Present were Chairman Dan Reeson, 1st Supervisor Dan Truttmann, 2nd Supervisor Steve Hermanson, Treasurer Ann Carlson, and Clerk Nancy Anderson along with six concerned citizens. Verification of proper notice was given. Dan Truttmann move to approve the amended February minutes, Steve Hermanson 2nd. Motion carried.
Treasurer’s Report- Ann Carlson presented a Profit and Loss Budget through the end of February to the Board.
Bills- A few small bills were presented. Dan Reeson move to approve the bills, Steve Hermanson 2nd. Motion carried.
Patrolman’s Report- Wayne is presently cutting brush and maintaining roads.
Plan Commission- Todd Hasse (Gary and Sandy Bubenzer)-Purchase 40 acres from Robert Suddeth- Mr. Hasse presented a Certified Survey Map to the Board. After some discussion, Dan Reeson move to approve the 40 acre division from Robert Suddeth to Gary and Sandy Bubenzer, Dan Truttmann 2nd. Motion carried.
Public Comments- Dan Reeson reported that County J from County C to Highway 81 will be closed for the summer for repairs. Also, older septic systems in the County will need to be inspected every three years.
Old Business
Review Driveway Ordinance amendment and application packet- The Board reviewed the packet which included the addition of item (i) under section 4 limiting a request for a driveway refund to two years after approval of a driveway application. A new checklist of steps to follow to obtain a driveway permit and request a final inspection and refund was also added.
Driveway Refund Update- Steve would like to begin driveway inspections soon. The clerk will provide a list to the Board of those who have responded to the mailing about requesting a refund.
Review Resolution and Ordinance to Raise Dog Tax- The Board reviewed the Dog Tax Ordinance. Both ordinances are ready to present at the Public Hearing on Tuesday, April 12, 2011.
New Business
Governor Walker’s Budget Repair Bill- Steve contacted the WI Towns Association to gather information on how the highway aids would be affected with the new budget repair bill. The current road aid is $2117 per mile with a proposed 3% cut which would bring it down to $2053 per mile. The higher the equalized value in a community, the more the municipality will be affected, which could be anywhere from 8% to 50%.
Estimates for electrical service for salt shed- Steve Hermanson obtained an estimate from Kiel Electric for $1100 – $1500 and from Jorenby Electric for $1800 – $2100. Dan Reeson move to hire Kiel Electric to install the electrical service, Dan Truttmann 2nd. Motion carried.
Driveway Refund- Rod Zimmerman (Prairie Brook)-Dan Truttmann move to approve a driveway refund to Rod Zimmerman, Steve Hermanson 2nd. Motion carried.
Adjournment- Dan Truttmann move to adjourn the meeting, Steve Hermanson 2nd. Motion carried. The meeting adjourned at 9:12 P.M.
