Regular Monthly Town Board Meeting
Tuesday, May 10th, 2011

The meeting was called to order at 8:00 P.M.  Present were Chairman Dan Reeson, 1st Supervisor Dan Truttmann, 2nd Supervisor Steve Hermanson, Treasurer Ann Carlson, and Clerk Nancy Anderson along with citizen Marcelino Miranda and Highway Commission representative Jeff Wunchell.  Verification of proper notice was given.

Dan Truttmann move to approve the April, 2011 minutes, Steve Hermanson 2nd.  Motion carried.

Treasurer’s Report- Ann Carlson presented the January through April, 2011 Profit and Loss Budget for the Board to view.  Ann noted that the Town received its second quarter State Transportation Aid payment of $21,783.93 and Lottery Credit of $3163.69.

Bills- Dan Truttmann presented a bill for $69.00 for recycling signs.  Wayne had various bills for oil filters, reflectors, signs and posts, and a tractor light bracket. Dan Reeson move to pay the bills, Dan Truttmann 2nd.  Motion carried.

Patrolman’s Report- Wayne got a quote for a new truck radio for $372.00  Dan Reeson move to purchase the radio, Steve Hermanson 2nd.  Motion carried.

Plan Commission- There were three applicants for the Plan Commission to fill vacancies and expiring terms – Marcelino Miranda, Brian Bubenzer and Todd Larson.  Dan Truttmann move to approve Brian Bubenzer and Todd Larson as members of the Plan Commission, Steve Hermanson 2nd.  Motion carried.  Dan Reeson move to approve Marcelino Miranda as a member of the Rural Land Conservation Committee, Dan Truttmann 2nd.  Motion carried.

New Business:

Road Repairs- Jeff Wunchell led the road repair discussion, taking the Board through all the road projects that should be done in the Town.  After deciding which projects to go ahead with this year, Dan Reeson move to spend $93,000.00 for road repairs, Steve Hermanson 2nd.  Motion carried.  An estimate for Keith Wenger to have the County do some ditching for him was $400.00. Keith will be responsible for that payment.

Public Comments- Nancy expressed concern about the untrimmed shrub at the foot of the Town Hall driveway which obstructs the view to the right when pulling out.  Dan Truttmann commented about the nice railing installed on the stile at Green’s Prairie Cemetery.  Steve Hermanson wondered if the Town should put out a request for bids to repair the Town Hall roof and the Town garage walls.  The Board will need to decide before requesting bids, plus Wayne will need to empty the garage before repairs begin.

Pass amendments to driveway ordinance and dog tax ordinance- Dan Reeson move to adopt the amendments to both the driveway ordinance and the dog tax ordinance, Steve Hermanson 2nd.  Motion carried.

Can Recycling- Steve Hermanson has a trailer that could be used to store and haul the aluminum cans down to Monroe.  Dan Truttmann mentioned that Karen has a trailer to haul the cans.  The Town would be willing to split the proceeds with her.

Driveway Refunds- Only a few driveways have been inspected.  The Board will try to view driveways before May 23rd, and then hopefully call a short meeting after Board of Review to approve refunds.

Adjournment- Dan Truttmann move to adjourn the meeting, Steve Hermanson 2nd.  Motion carried.  The meeting was adjourned at 9:20 P.M.
