Minutes of Monthly Board Meeting
Tuesday, June 9, 2026
Please Note: These Town Board meeting minutes are posted as draft-only to inform town residents of the topics addressed at the board meeting. These minutes are subject to review and possible revision at next month’s Town Board meeting and should not be considered official until they receive final board approval at that time.
The meeting was called to order by Dan Truttmann at 7:04pm. The meeting was held via video conference on Zoom and in person. Chairman Dan Truttmann, 1st Supervisor Travis Leonard, 2nd Supervisor Aaron Gifford, and Clerk-Treasurer Brenda Hackbart were present. Verification of proper notice was given.
Public Comment: Kevin Kovall requested improvements be made to Jeremiahson Lane off Yankee Hollow Road due to poor conditions and incline. Patrolman explained road mounded to prevent rain buildup and challenges in adding more gravel or smoothing out. Board discussion on current quality, causes and road layout, options to repair (recycled blacktop, filler gravel, chip sealing, paving), possibly splitting costs with residents on that road. Board to continue further discussions.
Minutes of 5/12/2026 Town Board Meetings: Minutes were presented. Motion made by Dan Truttmann to approve the Minutes from the last meeting as presented; second by Travis Leonard. Motion carried.
Treasurer’s Report: Brenda Hackbart presented report and shared updates to bank conversion including funds held in both banks, current and anticipated activity on various ledger accounts, noted ledger accounts to update during 2026/2027 budget work (48002, 53312, 52205, 57324).
Bills to be Paid: Brenda Hackbart presented one bill to be paid for Green County Highway Dept; Board identified amounts to invoice resident (Aaron Gifford) for culvert. Motion made by Dan Truttmann to approve payment of the bill from Green County Highway Dept; second by Travis Leonard. Motion carried.
Patrolman’s Report: Lance Moen reported status on road work by Scott Construction, paver & cold patching, mowing completed, tree trimming, more tractor issues – Board considering selling existing tractor and leasing instead, Alter Metal picked up metals dumpster and another almost full. Dan Truttmann detailed issues with Hustad Valley Road work, discussed with Green County Hwy and they’ll remedy for York. Dan Truttmann reported need for additional trash dumpster; clerk to contact hauler to provide.
Plan Commission Report: Dan Truttmann reported Bob Schaefer requested opinion on easement placement; Tim Schleeper of Vierbicher recommended involvement on discussions with residents; suggested using Land Account funds for costs to setup database; discussions on fee schedule postponed until next meeting – Board discussed collecting a deposit if receive requests prior to implementation of fee schedule.
Business Items:
- Approval of Conditional Use Permit for Kiel Stampfli: Board discussion with Kiel Stampfli on sign placement. Motion made by Dan Truttmann that the town recommends the conditional use permit be approved for Kiel and Baileigh Stampfli; second by Travis Leonard. Motion carried.
- Tabled discussion on Fee Schedule for Land Division & Recycling Ordinances: Dan Truttmann shared that Plan Commission was unable to complete recommendations at last meeting; will discuss at next Plan Commission meeting July 1st to present at next Board meeting.
Dan Truttmann shared information regarding nearby property and future options for Town buildings; request adding to July’s agenda for discussion.
Adjournment: Dan Truttmann made motion to adjourn; second by Aaron Gifford. Motion carried. The meeting adjourned at 8:28pm.
