WARNING – BE ON ALERT FOR SCAMS
Municipalities around the state are hearing about various attempts to steal personal or business information or even money. One of the latest scams going around is by means of a FAKE invoice being emailed to individuals with the municipality logo/letterhead. Always use caution opening attachments in emails, clicking on links, and especially anything asking for money with a sense of urgency. To date, we are not aware of any mass scams targeting York residents, and we hope it stays that way by bringing this to your attention. So, if you ever receive a suspicious email from the town, feel free to call the clerk’s office to verify. And remember, Town of York only receives payments through our post office address as listed on our website or during in person meetings.
